“We are heartbroken,” family spokesperson Michelle Gauvin told Today. “We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss. Logan was an exceptional talent, with a kind heart, and an infectious spirit. We will all miss him tremendously.”
His mother, Marlyse Williams, told Tri-City News she was “absolutely devastated” by her son’s death, which was made all the more painful since she was having to grieve alone because of social distancing restrictions in place because of coronavirus.
A cause of death was not released, but Gauvin said it was not related to COVID-19.
Erin Krakow of ‘When Calls the Heart’ mourns Logan Williams
After learning of Williams’ death, many who knew the young actor took to social media to share their condolences. Among them was Erin Krakow, who worked with Williams on When Calls the Heart. He played her student Miles Montgomery between 2014 and 2016.
“Heartbroken to learn of the passing of Logan Williams who played Miles Montgomery in several seasons of @wcth_tv,” Krakow, who plays series lead Elizabeth Thornton, wrote on Instagram.
“Logan was a beautiful, warm, silly, and talented young man,” she added. “He could always make us laugh. He was just shy of 17 and had what I’m sure would have been a very bright future ahead of him. I hope you’ll join me in sending virtual love & support to Logan’s family & friends during this very painful time.”
“We’ll miss you Logan,” she wrote in a follow-up post. “I’ll always be very proud of you.” Hundred of Hearties left comments on both posts offering their own thoughts and prayers for Williams’ family.
According to IMDb, Williams appeared in 13 episodes of When Calls the Heart.

Krakow wasn’t the only When Calls the Heart cast member mourning Williams. Mitchell Kummen, who played the older brother of Williams’ character on the show, shared his thoughts on Twitter.
“My friend Logan Williams passed away yesterday. I am beyond sad!” he wrote. “Proud to play [your] older brother Dude. We had so much on set #wcth #Hearties. Loved hanging out … You were such a talent. Sending love to your mom.”
Andrea Brooks, who plays Faith Carter on the Hallmark Channel show, also offered her condolences, tweeting that she was “devasted” by the news. A number of other young cast members from the show, including Ava Grace Cooper, Grace Shinyei, and Carter Ryan Evanic also remembered Williams on social media.
‘The Flash’ cast also mourns Williams
The cast of The Flash also mourned their co-star, including series star Grant Gustin, who plays the older version of Barry Allen/The Flash. He shared a photo of himself with Williams on Instagram.
“Just hearing the devastating news that Logan Williams has passed away suddenly,” he wrote. “This picture was early in the filming of The Flash pilot episode back in 2014. I was so impressed by not only Logan’s talent but his professionalism on set. My thoughts and prayers will be with him and his family during what is I’m sure an unimaginably difficult time for them.”
